Talking to God

 To Communicate is to share of exchange information, news, or ideas. We do this with each other all the time. We text, e-mail, IM, Facebook, Myspace (if anyone still has that). We communicate with the people we love and care about every day. Yet, for most of us unless times are really bad or really good we don't communicate with God.

Why is it that we only communicate with God when we need him? funny how we only call on him when we want something. Do we not realize that Christ wants a relationship with us? Do we not understand what a relationship is? We tend to get it if its our Boyfriend or Girlfriend, our best friend or our parents. But when it comes to God hes just there when we need him. WHAT?!?!? NO! He wants all of us all the time! Like a father seek to speak with his son he seeks to speak with you. And you should feel the same way given everything he has given you.

I love David, he is such an inspiration for me. The book of Psalms is pretty much 150 chapters of prayer. His writings in Psalms are such a blessing to me. He writes with such passion and heart. You can tell that when he talks to the Lord he isn't just communicating with anyone, he is communicating with his creator, his protector, his best friend, and his King.

I want to pray like he does, I want to seek the Lord in prayer like he does, I want to talk to my King like he does. See we can talk to other people, but they wont always be there fur us. They will move away, loose touch with us, and they will eventually die. But God is forever. He is there for us when we are week, when we are strong, and when we aren't there for him. He will never leaves us. So shouldn't we take time our of our day to talk to the one person who will always be there for us, no matter the situation.

My goal this week and the weeks to come, is to be in deep prayer, To be like David when I am praying. To seek God with all my heart and with all my sole. To talk to him like ever time I talk to him is like it the first time i have in 20 years. My goal is to pray! Pray for my struggles, pray for my sins, pray for my future, my friends, and my enemies. My goal is to communicate with the one person who I should never go with out talking to. My King.

I read this Psalm today and it inspired my post. I hope it inspires you too. Be like David, pray with passion. Pray like you are talking to your king. Pray like you are talking to your best friend, the person who will always be there for you.

Keep me in your prayers my friends, for you will be in mine. You are loved!

To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
 O my God, in you I trust;
    let me not be put to shame;
    let not my enemies exult over me.
 Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame;
    they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.
 Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
    teach me your paths.
 Lead me in your truth and teach me,
    for you are the God of my salvation;
    for you I wait all the day long.
 Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
    for they have been from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
    according to your steadfast love remember me,
    for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!
 Good and upright is the Lord;
    therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
 He leads the humble in what is right,
    and teaches the humble his way.
 All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness,
    for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.
 For your name's sake, O Lord,
    pardon my guilt, for it is great.
 Who is the man who fears the Lord?
    Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose.
 His soul shall abide in well-being,
    and his offspring shall inherit the land.
 The friendship[b] of the Lord is for those who fear him,
    and he makes known to them his covenant.
 My eyes are ever toward the Lord,
    for he will pluck my feet out of the net.
 Turn to me and be gracious to me,
    for I am lonely and afflicted.
 The troubles of my heart are enlarged;
    bring me out of my distresses.
 Consider my affliction and my trouble,
    and forgive all my sins.
 Consider how many are my foes,
    and with what violent hatred they hate me.
 Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me!
    Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
 May integrity and uprightness preserve me,
    for I wait for you.
 Redeem Israel, O God,
    out of all his troubles. (Psalms 25)
